So i've been having trouble with my FN PBR

i bought an FN PBR some while ago, and have just been having trouble getting it zeroed in at 100, seems simple enough right?
well first, it was too low and i over=adjusted the scope and broke it, so i had it taken in to Nikon and they fixed it (for free!)
so now, i remounted it(done by smiths) and had it zeroed in and everything, the people who did the work said it should be fine now but it still is hitting one mildot(i believe since my scope is a mildot reticle scope) low at 100 yards with the scope adjusted the highest it can for elevation. I'm planning on getting an EGW base soon and hopefully it'll fix the problem. Any clues as to why it does this on a factory stock gun? Shouldn't the gun come to me able to mount a set of rings and a good scope and able to get zeroed in decently?

BTW, i'm running a FN PBR in 308, with a Harris Bipod, Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 scope and the base that the gun came with. any suggestions? Thanks

I have a PBR and haven't had any issues with several scopes I've mounted on it.

You do have the scope mounted properly? the knobs facing the right direction?

I helped a guy that had rotated his scope in the mounts because he was left handed. the left-right adjustment was on top instead of on the side.

The only other thing I can think of is that the mounting rings are not seated all the way onto the rail on the receiver, so they are not parallel with the rail.

If you have other scoped rifles you might want to buy a laser alignment setup, they seem to be getting pretty cheap these days. The cost is the same as ammo you'd have to throw down range testing things.

    Good Luck!

the knobs are facing in the right direction,

i'll try and reseat the rings and see if thats the problem, kind of doubt it though since this is my second pair of rings,

Your problem is the scope it is mounted upwards, it should look downwards.
Maybe the scope base is mounted in opposite direction?
The scope has to be parallel to the base.

Pictures of the scope mounted on the base would help.

The base is O.K and better then EGW.
Now you have two thing left
Rings or scope.Mount different rings ( not Chinese)on and zero.
IF doesn't help, your scope is no good.
There is no magic to it.

alright, what type of rings are they? and i guess i'll try TPS rings
is there a possibility there is something wrong with the gun? it shoots consistently but maybe it shoots too low?

As low as possible, different brand different height, but for sure not higher than medium and possible a low.

Get a one piece base, and some better quality rings. I just got some Burris Signature Zee rings in today. No need for lapping rings to get full contact with scope.

okay, so how are warnes compared to seekins? i think im going with one of those, how are these rings?

or these seekins in 1" low

what are the pros and cons between those? differences? Thanks for all your help

Seekins are higher quality, ease to mount and ease to sell.
