    ACOG users please step inside

I currently running a 14.5" barrel with pinned MB and shooting M193 ammo with irons on a 50 yard zero.

Over the weekend I sighted my TA31F in at 50 yards. Will this get me close to the TA31Fs BDC at its listed ranges or do I need to zero at 100?

    TIA

I m in the process of hunting down some real information from Trijicon's engineers. Stay tuned.

But for a starter, ACOG assumed that you zero @ 100. TA31F's BDC is based on a 14.5" barrel firing M193 with the ACOG mounted to the receiver via a TA51 mount. But I am in the process of verifying this, since I have measured the drops, and they don't line up.

The TA01, TA11, & TA31 (.223) were designed for the 5.56mm, 20 inch barrel, 55 grain bullet, and M16/AR15 carry handle mount. The TA01B & TA11C(.308) were designed for the 7.62mm, 20 inch barrel, 168 grain bullet, and M16/AR15 carry handle mount. The TA01NSN was designed specifically for the US Special Operations Command SOPMOD M4 Carbine. To meet their requirements, the reticle bullet drop compensator and range finding stadia lines were based on the trajectory of the 62 grain bullet from a 14.5 inch barrel, flattop mount (Picatinny rail Mil.Std.1913).
By the way, it is *likely* that those drops are in meters..... so, zeroing should be @ 100m/110yds...

They are setup for a 100yds zero on the tip of the Chevron.

        +1

I've always done a 100yd zero with the TA50. POA tangent to the top of the dot.

Here are the info I got from my Trijicon source:

          Model TA31 was calibrated based on 62gr M855 (BC = .304) @ 3050fps.
The BDC is engineered for 100 meter ZERO.

          Graduations are as follows-
          200m 2.0moa
          300m 4.1moa
          400m 7.8moa
          500m 12.6moa
          600m 18.7moa
          700m 26.4moa
          800m 35.8moa

          EDIT: TA11F is the same....

Took the rifle and TA31F to the range this week. The BDC made hits at 3-400 meters pretty easy.
