So it seems like a watered down version of Strike eagle without illumination. Slight over $400 with Vortex MIL/Veteran discount

For what its worth, the HST and PST gen 1 are supposed to be better than the diamondback, the venom, and the strike eagle, and the glass on the HST is trash. The "eye box" at max zoom is more of a finite dot than a 3D area. If youre looking for a cheap optic that works great, get an Arken- period. The most expensive scope I own is an Athlon Ares ETR which I love, and the Arken's clarity is almost as good. Its better than the Bushnell Forge, which is leaps and bounds better than the HST. i am by no means an optic snob, in fact, I bargain hunt like crazy for deals. That being said, if youre looking for an optic you can actually see clearly through out past 1000 yards, get the Arken. I never would have taken the chance on one if I hadnt checked it out in person. You may think it cant deliver all it promises on based on its price, just as I thought, but it IS the real deal, and well worth the wait.

I looked into Arken and it seems to have a cult like following. My issue with Arken is that the company seems to go out of its way to hide the fact their scopes are made in China.

If you watch Cyclops Joe's youtube interview with Arken's marketing guy, he claims Arken scopes are "designed and build in-house"...right after claiming Arken scopes are not OEM from China. Thus giving false impression that their scopes are US made. Honest Joe had to clarify the marketing guy meant Arken's scopes are built to their spec (by some unnamed factory).

I will add, at least vortex is upfront about where their scopes are made.. higher tier scopes in Japan or US, mid tier in the Philippines, and lower tier in China. I have a Razor gen 2 on a recce-style AR and the glass and built quality is phenomenal...

Arkens are no joke. I have the EP4 and the tracking is better than a viper gen 1 I had. I noticed when using data off my ballistics app, I dial the arken and I get hits. My previous viper on this same rifle always had some variability that lefts me chasing other issues. Picked up a GenII viper after I sold the genI and had a couple of issues with it that turned me off of vortex. This is 6-24x50 EP4 looking at 2/3 silhouette at 1000

The specs are pretty mediocre for a 34mm tube. It seems like the 34mm tube is mostly a marketing ploy. It wouldn't surprise me if these are made in the same factory that makes the Arkens.
