Testing the unit is important if he plans to actually use the scope and not just plink with it like many do off the bench. His name is gun slinger so I figured he might be using it on a duty weapon not a wall hanger. THe tritium will allow for low light target engagments and the replacement cost of the tritium would make this great deal a good deal. Just wanted to let the op know of a possible problem since new old stock of the trijicons are around.

Once a Trijicon scope is sold. It will still be under warrantee thru Trijicon.
          That's how good they are.

Yes but if the tritium goes out that is not under warranty.I have several trijicons and the tr21 is my favorite. Have an older3x9 and it needed new tritium.

One of the first things I did afterI bought it was test it and is nice and bright. works well in low light , hell even no light..may not be able to see your target in pitch black but the triangle lights up nicely LOL.....

But all in all I am pleased with this purchase. I am waiting on a high rise mount so I have yet to take it to the range to sight it in but after initial sight in my rifle never touches the bench. I use it for tactical shooting matches. My klind of "plinking" involves multiple targets timed from multiple positions, point blank to 600yds,shooing on the move, moving targets, etc.....I primarely use iron sights so I am excited to see how the optics work for me...
I am always looking to improve and meet new people, so anyone want to hit the range for some drills let me know..I shoot at the desert marksman in the Antelope vally but am open to try other ranges....Cheers!

Did you call Trijicon? Has it been more than 10 years?
                  I love them so much I have a 2 Tr21r's, 1 Tr20r, 1 Trijicon ACOG TA31DOC,
3 Trijicon Docter dots. Mostly used for 3-gun competition and hunting.

For all you Accupoint owners (now that the deal has been confirmed),
What sort of mounts do you use to put this on a flattop AR?
                    Is co-witnessing important?

I use both Larue and PRI's. I like the Precision Reflex Industries top mount
rail because it gives an extra height advantage for the Trijicon Accupoint scopes. But for my Acog I use the Larue quick release mount.

I use La Rue SPR-E mounts. I started using them because my orginal setup wouldn't extend over my PRI handguard I needed something taller.

Remember if you raise the scope you might need to raise your stock to get a good cheek weld.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.
