Our 16" SOTA barreled ar wears a Burris e1 2-7, which is sadly now discontinued. Nothing special, but it works and is a good match for the cartridge imho.
The PA 1-6 would probably work for you. I've read that it's a nice scope with an usable reticle. As for range, while 7.62x39 is definitely not a long distance cartridge I've been able to reliably hit steel at 500 yds with it using Tula HP.
Good luck with your searchLast edited by kenl; 03-08-2021, 4:49 AM.sigpic

Used my left over 1-6 PA for .223. Its only for 200ydish shots with an offset micro red dot for CQ. Hell even the PA 1-6 wasnt tracking my .223 reloads and factory ammo until I got velocity to about 2700 FPS with 62 gr pills. Tracked it out to 500 yds at Angeles using the ACSS Reticle where the numbers consided with the yardage, good times!Comment

Aim point on ultimak
But mainly irons on AK. They get me on steel to 400 without issue.Last edited by hermosabeach; 03-07-2021, 8:16 PM.Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

This is my result at 300 yds with a PA 1-6 & random Tula/Brown Bear/etc. If I got the scope centered it would be about a 6-8" group, which isn't worth bragging about but it's acceptable given the ammo.
I remember the day I shot this, the other people at the 300 yd line, they would take 1 shot, wait 10 minutes, then another shot. While I was doing semi-mag dumps (the range limits it to 1 round per second) the whole time. Of course their groups were much better, but I think I had more fun.Last edited by kcheung2; 07-09-2022, 12:37 AM.---------------------

Have the PA GLX 2x this on my CZ Bren 7.62. Good clear sight picture for CQB and longer ranged shots.
Shop our catalog of MicroPrism Scopes. Find AK 47, AR 308, & AR 15 scopes from Primary Arms. Available in BDC, MOA, MIL, ACSS & more.
love it, 2x just enough to engage out to 300 with ease, hold overs aren't spot on but gets within minute of torso.Comment

This is what I run on my latest ZPAP builds.
Older AKs I have aimpoint PRO or Buschnell Elite Tactical 1-6.5 (LPVO)Comment

At the very least the hold overs will match the average steel cased ammo du jour.
I use a psop 4x on one of my AK's and it is very accurate/solid. I have shot it 400 yds max.
24" round steel is easy enough. AR might be better.
x39 has a pretty good amount of hang time at 400 yds plus.Comment
