    Sig BDX (Sierra) Glass?

I have to admit the more I look at these combos, the more I find them in my cart but, what is preventing me from buying them is there's no mention of the quality of the glass in these optics in any review. Are these a $200 scope with $600 of electronics/marketing or is the glass ok? If it's comparable to a $500 scope (viper etc) I would purchase in a heartbeat.

Does anyone who has mid-upper end scopes have any experience with these that might be able to clue me in?

The glass is ok. I have a BDX 6-24. The reticle, for me, was fine but because I'd the exposed LED leads it can be a little busy. I had issues with pairing and utilizing the ranging option. Used the fixed points more than anything.

I had the low end range finder also, that could of been an issue but it was advertised to work with it. I have the 1400 I think.

Thanks for the reply. My understanding is that they made the leads a little lower profile in the 2.0 BDX version. Still.. it's so gimmicky but.. so cool at the same time it's hard to ignore. The glass being "OK" is what I was afraid of. Hrmm maybe I need to delete the content of my cart.

Dont get me wrong, it was clear and enough light. Was able to take it out to 600 ish but it was mounted on a MP10 and I also thought it was gimmicky but cool idea for a great price. Just know it might have issues. Had to send in the first because the ocular lens dislodged but they replaced it right away.

Decided to shelve it and put my Vortex HSLR on it, going to zero it soon. It's a keeper as the fixed range points are still usable if you have an issue with the ranging aspect. It also doesnt need to have the APP open to work on Fixed as long as your ballistics are dialed in initially.

SIG has come out with the Sierra6 line, which probably has better glass.

Think of it this way, the more you spend, better the glass. So the Sig BDX I'd a pretty affordable "cheap " optic. Glass isn't the best. Get good glass and good range finder with AB on it. Good to go

I'm currently running a PST Gen2 5-25 but thinking about the Sierra6 BDX 5-30 for the BDX 2.0 since I recently bought one of their range finders. The scopes are not expensive, the one I'm looking at is only $1200 but out of stock everywhere, excited to try it once it gets back in stock.

What are you looking for? I just got a steal on mine (SIERRA3 4.5-14x50MM with 1800KILO) . Glass is ok from what I can see.

You can buy the combo of what you're looking for here. The range finder retails for like $8-900 so that's not a bad deal!

I just called them and they do not sell the scope by itself, definitely makes no sense for me to buy that package and get a second range finder, one is good enough. But thanks for looking. Been waiting a few months on waitlist from major retailers, I’ll continue to wait for the scope to be in stock, I’m in no rush to buy a package just for the scope.

I just got shipping notice on my 3-18x44 Sierra6BDX that I pre-ordered in December Should be here next week, I have the Kilo3000 binos and really like them so hopefully the scope is good too.

The kilo3000 binos are findable now and then for high 900's, might as well get binos instead of just a rangefinder for almost the same money.

                          My 2 cents:

-Kilo2400ABS range finder has ballistic calculator built in with ability to perform internal calculations out to the maximum capability of the device. My experience is right around 1800-2k on rocks and brush. Downside is that it will not send range info via Bluetooth to the Kestrel weather meters.

-Kilo2400bdx will range targets at same distances as the ABS and transfer range directly to the Kestrel but only has a limited internal ballistics engine capable of only 800-1k yds.

-Kilo3000 binos have a limited internal ballistic calculator that tops out at like 800 yds despite the device being able to range things well past 2500 yds. The Kilo3000 also will transfer range directly into the Kestrels, which saves one step in your workflow.

Overall, I would recommend a Kilo2400abs if you want great LRF and an unrestricted internal ballistics engine for shots out to 2k or so. ABS comes with the Weatherflow anemometer for wind speed.

I would recommend the Kilo3000 paired with a Kestrel 5700 if you want the best combination of flexibility.

I would not recommend the Sig BDX scope system unless they have done away with the limitation on range. It used to be limited to like 800-1000.

The Kilo3000 goes out to 800 on its own, but you can either use a Kestrel/Garmin to get full distance solutions or plug information (elevation, wind, temp, humidity, etc) into the phone app in lieu of a Kestrel/Garmin to get a full distance solution.

My Sierra6 gets delivered today so I'll let you know on the range limitation as I test it out, but I would assume it can deal with whatever the rangefinder gives it.
