    $250ish scope wanted

I jumped on the .17 HMR band wagon. Bought a CZ 457 w/ 24" barrel.

I used to be all about Nikon, but obvious is obvious.....F Nikon.

So I need a scope in the $250 range. Looking at Hawke and Vortex brands. VMR-1 is my fav so far.

Not looking to regularly shoot beyond 100yds.

    I went with a SWFA SS 2.5-10x32 ultralight for my .17hmr cz455. https://www.swfa.com/swfa-ss-2-5-10x...e-scope-1.html
A bit above your budget, but imho it has a nice zoom range, nice glass, and is just a sweet, simple scope.

Yes, the one with the BDR has it's parallax set at 150yds, but that comes out to 0.5" max error at 25 yds, well within minute of squirrel at that range. https://www.swfa.com/swfa-ss-2-5-10x...e-scope-1.html. They also offer two other models, both with a simple duplex reticle, one with the parallax set at 100yds, and a rimfire set at 50yds.

Hawke has two with .17hmr reticles, and bsa has one with dedicated turrets. There are a bunch of other great choices out there, enjoy your hunt

I wanted to upgrade my stock Savage R9317 scope and choose a Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14x40. I wanted a 12x minimum and clarity to shoot ground squirrels. Bought it off the 24hour campfire forums for like $110.
