You answered it yourself: comes down to personal preference

Having made the switch recently, I vastly prefer the least obtrusive back-up irons as possible and run a black single tritium front and blacked out rear.

I like fiber fronts for general use but when using a red dot I'd rather not have anything at all competing for my attention.

I’ll find a small box to go inside my box o’ holsters.

Assuming cowitnessing or not or 1/3 etc is all a matter of preference as well.

With red dots sights- black iron as co witness.

A fiber rear or front would make your brain digest - reset the OODA loop- what am I looking at and what am I ignoring
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Black front with perhaps a tritium dot is my personal choice.

For the rear there is noting so atrocious as the huge, blocky, ugly "suppressor" rear sights some folks are installing. Having to machine a slide and mount such monstrosities is just a bit wasteful to me. The enlightened manufacturers are the ones simply incorporating a rear notch into the red dot housing...and the true innovators will be the ones who realize a "notch" etched onto the glass itself will serve as an excellent backup with zero weight/bulk and minimal cost.

Though just like rifle BUIS I see folks getting wrapped around the axle fretting over something that will never be used if a quality optic is selected and maintained.

The obvious exception is those who will be deployed for extended periods in harsh conditions without re-supply...which does not apply to most of us.
