    Leupold Deltapoint Micro

For those of you with Glocks and S&W MP's that have wanted RDS but did not want to machine their slides, it looks like Leupold has come up with a solution. It's not cheap, but after saving on the cost of machining your slide, it will probably come out even to other solutions. Looks like these fit right into the existing rear sight dovetail slot:

We’ve been making world-class optics that bear our family name for over 100 years. We honor that legacy every day as we design, machine and assemble…

I wish SHOT 2021 wasn't cancelled. I would like to have looked at this one in person.

    Weird!

I would be worried that the illumination level would be wrong for the conditions when I draw the weapon to shoot - and I won't have a dot. BTW, how do you adjust the illumination?

Conventional wisdom suggests the bigger the window, the faster the sight picture and target acquisition. This new dot suggests the opposite. So which is truly faster, a bigger window or a smaller window?

I would want to test this on a pistol during a USPSA match before buying one.

Yeah, saw it on Noir's channel...

      TFB has some good images:

The market for red dots have exploded the last few years, yet the perfect red dot does still not exist. It's therefore interesting to welcome Leupold's new model, the DeltaPoint Micro Red Dot Sight. The model is fully enclosed, mounts directly to the rear sight dovetail and with a low-profile.

MSRP is $520. If a street price in the low 400s, I'll probably pick one up and try it out.

Yes, with that small tube, my main concern would be speed of acquisition on the dot.

Looks like MAP is (probably) $399.

It makes it look like a handgun with a ball sack.

The Truth About Gun has a review at https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/ge...o-optic-video/ but I don’t know how objective it is.

After owning the LCO and Deltapoint Pro, my conclusion is that Leupold makes overpriced red dot sights that are inferior to the competition.
