    Olight PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie on Glock 21SF

My G21SF is the primary HD tool, and it seems to make sense to fit a light on it. I was looking and the Light PL_Mini 2 seems like it will fit the bill. I like that you can move the light forward and back, so when pushed agains the trigger guard it is bit further form the muzzle. Hoping that will help prevent fouling on the light as I want to practice at the range with the light mounted. Is it better to have the light forward or backward form the muzzle for fouling?

Also if it is further back will the light be blocked by the slide on the 21SF?

Not sure if either is an issue. I like the idea of not having a light protrude beyond the barrel.

Holster carry is not an issue, as the primary purpose is HD. I'm not planning to use the light when it is going to be used with a holster (will be very infrequent), another area where I like the Light was it can easily be fitted and removed.

This is what it looks like

I have one of these on one of my Glock 17's and it seems to be a very good light. I like the smaller less obtrusive size and the light it provides is more than adequate for the task at hand.

I was going to buy this light until I found out about the battery life. It's 600 lumens for only the first minute and then it drops down to 60 lumens for the next 60 minutes.

Check out the technical details: https://www.olightstore.com/olight-p...2-black-1.html

That is good to know. Not sure that will work for me, will rather have a bit less light but consistent for 1 hour +. 60 lumens will be a bit low, especially if it was at 600 for 1 minute plus before.

Perhaps best to just get a Streetlight TLR-1 or similar. A bit bigger, but runs much longer consistently.

I got one on a 10mm EAA Witness. No problem at all, though metal frames flip less.

After a bit more research Im seriously looking at the Streamlight TLR7A. I like that it is a more compact and seems to have plenty of light.

Oh, I didn’t know I needed to be special forces super mall ninja to get light for a HD handgun. Beats having to hold a flashlight in one hand, prefer to see what I may need to shoot at.

Ended up ordering a Streamlight TLR 7A, hopefully it will fit the bill of a compact light for HD.

                        Thx, hope so.
The Olight looked good, but the short window of real operation seemed a little concerning. Always good to get input here.

My understanding was that the quick dropoff in lumens was because the light gets too hot to maintain the high output. This is a safety measure in most lights.

Is the olight just weak on battery life or is it just equipped with a quick lumen dropoff?

Hopefully mine will be installed over the holidays. Shipping is drag this time of year, but this year is especially crazy.

Don’t know what you paid, but LAPG has it for $120, and with the 10% promo code drops it to $108. Not much more than the Olight.
