Hakko Optic on Walther (HK) MP5 A5 .22LR

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install a Hakko Panorama BED-35 RDS onto my Walther/HK MP5 A5 .22 LR.

I'm completely new to modifying firearms, as I have done absolutely nothing to anything I own.

The Hakko has a built in mount, the top of the MP5 has nothing to mount onto. Does this mean I need to add a picatinny rail (or something else) to the top?

or if you want the original claw mount, but you'll need to add a pic rail adaptor to it.

The budget options, despite their brand's rep, actually work pretty well. But I strongly suggest you upgrade your red dot. What you have is just a generic made in china product sold under a variety of labels (look at Feyachi, CVLife, Pilotdiary, Chui, etc. on Amazon) It's all made in the same factory with just a different label stuck on at the end, and just like those names the product is disposable. For just $40 more, the Bushnell TRS-25 or Primary Arms microdot are much better options on a tight budget.

Or if you want to keep that red dot, spend an equivalent amount in ammo because you'll need it trying to zero the thing. I've been there, I have one. The controls aren't the best, to put it mildly.

You know, I probably should have trusted my gut in regards to the Hakko. I thought it was weird when I googled it most of the results I got were in Russian or some other language. I took a leap of faith because it said it was made in Japan. It did not help that I have never purchased an Optic ever so I was not sure what to look for and have not even read up on the "zeroing" procedure yet.

Learning experience.

Between these two, do you have any experience between the vertical or horizontal tightening screws?

Besides that the $18 looks lower profile.
