    EOTech Manufactured Date

    Hey everyone,

Quick question: Does the manufactured date matter when an optic is LNIB? I just purchased an EOTech 512.A65 from another Calgunner who had it as an extra. Taken out only for pictures, and it was clean. When I picked it up, it did throw me off a little bit that it was in an old school cardboard box, but disregarded it when I thought about how my Sig P226 came in a cardboard box too.

Anyways, it was not until I got home and put batteries in, that I noticed the manufactured date is 2006. Is there anything I should be concerned about?

    Thank you in advance.

As long as it tracks properly it's fine, but if you really want, send it into Eotech for a new hood and (any applicable) updates for $79. Don't quote me on this, but I think the updates are battery life related.

Like older Aimpoints, you'll have shorter battery life than newer models.

If it works fine, that's the only real concern. Stuff batteries in every spare compartment in the stock & grip!)

Thank you for the suggestion. At least with AA batteries they are commo!
