    Vortex CS thumbs-up

I had recently purchased NOS (new old stock) PST GenII 3X15 #3158 with the EBR2-c reticle. From the beginning, I couldn't get the diopter just right. It would be close but I would have to be perfectly centered in the eye-box. This wasn't like my two other Gen 1 PST. I contacted Vortex and they said to send it in for an eval.

A week after receiving it they email me it's on the way back. Inside they replaced it under warranty with an upgraded #3159 EBR7-C. Very nice! Pretty happy with the service.

If you're going to make that kind of statement at least give a brief reason why you think that.

I'll do it instead. It was some 6-7 years ago, so maybe they improved since then. I might forget some small details, but the overall experience is correct
I bought Diamondback scope and whatever I did I could not zero it.
Spent numerous range trips, changed the rail, rings and what not..
It was changing the POI, like 3 bullets in one hole and then the next ones 2-5 inches on the side, or higher or lower.
It definitely could not withstand the mighty recoil of 223 rounds

Sent it to Vortex under the warranty. They sent it back saying that the scope was OK and there is a problem with the rifle. But the rifle was my trusty one which I had 3 years prior and I had a Bushnell on it with no issues.

Put the scope again, same issue, 2-4 bullets one hole and then it shifts.
Put my old Bushnell, everything was OK, no shifting, held zero.

Called customer service, spoke with a woman with a heavy asian accent. She tried to convince me that the problem is in the rifle or setup or in me not knowing how to use a scope or rifle, but the scope was OK according to her.
Only after threatening her with putting all of it out on the net and asking to talk to a supervisor, she agreed to exchange it.

The new scope holds zero just fine.

BTW 4-12 diamondback is not the best option in the Diamondback line. 3-9 is much better IMO

BTW, Nikon's customer service is even worst.

        ..

You pay for it. Im on my 4th Viper red dot. I dont trust it. I only use it every now and then to see if it works, or if its going to break. I worry that I'll need to ship it back if I use it too much.

          Mounted on 1911. Details:
1st: Glass shattered on first mag. Sent in for replacement.
2nd: Would not hold zero. Bore sited it 5 times. It was on target first shot, maybe 3+ inches on following shots. Discovered the glass was loose, not glued in. Sent in for replacement.
3rd: Glass cracked on corner. Left it for a little over a year. Finally died, never got wet, stayed in safe. Would not turn on with 3 new batteries (all batteries measuring over 3v, tested unmounted). Sent in for replacement
4th: Running on this one currently. Scared to use it. Gun just for show now.

Buddy bought a used red dot on ebay. Had some flickering issue under recoil [probably the battery cap/spring]. He sent it in and since it was an older generation they sent him a bnib new generation.
