Thanks Mute. I'll look it up and see if I fit in there somehow.

theLBC, that is a perfect solution for my old eyes. .223 on paper at 100 yards is miserable to try and decipher. Do you happen to remember the maker of your cell phone adapter?
this is the one i got for the large eyepiece of the svbony 20-60x.

i also got this one that would fit on a smaller eyepiece or riflescope.

unfortunately these are not ideal if the end of the eyepiece is also the focus ring.

The Kowa TSN 600 series (601 or 602) with the LER lens will set you back about $750, which is more than your budget but can be found on the used market for less.

Prior to buying a Kowa scope, I used a Konus 20-60X80 scope. It did very well for me when I first started shooting NRA high power service rifle. For $200 it had good resolution to 200yds. I'm sure the Cabela's scope will serve its purpose well for you.

Wow- 32mm of eye relief is very impressive. Most of the variable zoom SS I'm considering are 20mm or just under. The Cabela's CX Pro I'm looking at is 19-16mm which is right at the low end of what I'd consider. I think the Nikon's I was shopping were less than that so I had to scratch them off the list. to bad since I like the couple of Nikon rifle scopes I own.
