    how to zero at home?

How to do scope zero at home? The method I thought of is SiteLite Boresighter + 390Ft Digital Laser
First use a digital laser to find a 100y fixed spot, then use Boresighter to align it, then zero the scope, and do the 25y red dot in the same way. Is there any othe way to do it? (Please forget the different results brought by different bullets)Because SiteLite Boresighter is quite expensive, sl150's cost $140. Other bullet types are not accurate at all, and there is no way to test other accuracy at home without a machine tool.

    thanks

Just boresight it at 25 (or whatever) at home and confirm at the range.

I zero at home by eating pizza on the couch in my underwear, unshowered.

Many people separate the upper, lock it in a fixed position, then use the Mk I Eyeball down the bore and align the scope. It helps to point the bore towards a light source, or put a light at where the bore is pointing. Your eyes are doing what that boresighter is doing, but without having to pay $140. Then adjust the scope. That will get you close when you finally go to the range.

Depending on how far the light source is and what your intended zero is, the scope should be pointing slightly above your boreline, between 1 and 2 inches. The exact distance doesn't matter because you'll adjust when you actually fire. But at least get the windage correct; your reticle should be directly above the boreline, not slightly left or right.

Then go to range, shoot, adjust. It's possible to zero with just 1 shot (youtube it) but I don't have a rest so it takes me about half a dozen rounds or so.

Conceivably it's possible to zero without firing a single shot, but it requires some pretty precise (and expensive) equipment, those $25 boresights you see on Amazon won't cut it. And personally it seems foolish to spend a lot of money...to avoid firing a gun.

          For a bolt gun-

Place a dot on the fence

Set gun in rest-remove bolt- look down barrel - move gun until in line with dot on fence. When you look down the barrel- see the dot.

Adjust sights to be on the dot -

Windage -left and right. Sights should be Aligned left / right with the dot.

Scope Elevation should be above the dot the same height as the scope is above the bore
Typically 1-2” between center of bore and center of scope
          Typically 3/4” with irons.

This will get you close to zero at 100 yards. Fine tune at the range.

            For an AR
            Take upper off of lower
            Remove bolt

Set upper in rest and follow the same process as the bolt gun above.

Center of AR bore is probably 2 1/2” lower than center of sights.

If you can’t have a gun in the yard - neighbors - HOA- you can still do this in your home.

At the range- post a target
            Remove the bolt
            Set rifle in rest
Move rifle while looking down bore so rifle is on target

Look through optics/ sight. The bore is not probably going to align higher than the sight but will be on paper

Fire one group of 2 or 3

            Adjust from there.

I do this in a 75' long hall in a church basement; but then, I also work on the Pastor's rifles, so he lets me.

Simple bore sight will get you on paper at 25 yds.

^ It would work perfectly fine for an AR...and a SCAR too.
