I have some 1 inch risers for 30mm-40mm tubes from Weaver. I bought a scope and the coating on it was over 40mm so I did not use it. As far as trying to sight it in a little higher then normal it should not be any more difficult then using a shorter base. you always have to adjust up down left right on a scope anyways.

I am not a scope guru but you should be fine, people run way bigger scopes on 10/22's all day long.

My scope on my 1022 is bigger than that and I love it.

This is off midway about ring size.

      Insert something clever here.

        thanks

Thanks for the reply's. I guess I will put it all together when the bases get here and see how it all works out.

Are all rings the same? What should they cost and where should I buy them?

        Thanks

will work just fine for your rifle. Go oover to rimfirecentral.com and you will see many using that scope on their rifles.

Heck I have a Mueller 8.5X25X50 AO Eradicator on my Ruger 10/22 and it works great! Your good to go. Just get some rings that will get you the proper height and the FO lens clears the barrel.

              great

Thanks all for the info. Once my scope base arrives from savage I will go in search of rings.

I have that same scope, and yes, it's big, but it's fun to have the extra magnification sometimes. The illumination is for low-light use only, and is pretty much non-existent in daylight.

The main problem with it is that it gets a bit dark with very finicky eye relief at the higher magnifications, and I rarely use mine over 10x. It failed once when the objective lens started rattling around, but Mueller replaced it quickly, at a total cost of about $25. Keep your receipt - you need it to get warranty service!

It's a decent scope for the money. If I were outfitting a .22 with a Mueller today, I'd consider the APV.
