    Clamp-on bipod question

Is there any downside in having a clamp-on bipod mounted on a barrel vs sling swivel mounted bipod?

Clamping on barrel disturbs barrel performance better on free floated forend
The barrel wull react away from point of clamping. If you do not have exact same pressure on bipod at every shot the your groups will suffer.

I ran a Harris bipod that way on my L1A1 20+ years ago. Never affected it.

Thanks guys, I will give a try. I need it only for zeroing scopes at the range without any modifications of slings attachment.
