    Holosun on G48

Trying to figure out which Holosun RDS would be best to mount on a G48, but info available on Holosun's web site is lacking. Seems like it might be one of the 507 or 407 models, but not sure, and can't tell which exact models might be appropriate. Would someone please advise?

G48 should be one of those single stack glocks so its slide will be thinner. You will need one of the slimmer Holosuns, it ends in "K". So like the 407K or the 507K.

Both the K models seem to have the Shield footprint, so if you are getting your slide milled out, make sure they mill it out to the shield footprint.

In this article, the most common footprints/mounting standards used on red dot sights are listed. Each standard is described and an image of it is added.

The page you’re looking for could not be found. Browse Holosun optics, support pages, or return to the homepage.

Either the 507 or 407 will be too wide for the 48. Look into the Shield RMSC (the C is for compact). It is made for single-stack nines. Brownell's sells a pre-cut slide just for it.

Having both, the Holsun 507k is about 1mm wider at the base than the Shield and almost 1mm longer at the tip. It is a much more robust sight with nicely placed controls. The battery tray cover does protrude slightly from the right-side of the optic, maybe 1.5 to 2mm. I haven't gotten it mounted on my 43X yet (deciding who to send to for machining), but just comparing it side by side to the Shield, I prefer the Holosun 507K. The optics are good, not RMR quality of course, but on par with the Shield. The reticle is outstanding, as are the controls. I took a picture of the base so you can see that you can't use the Shield or Romeo Zero footprint; the placement of the battery tray required very shallow mounting receptacles. there are also side by side pics with a Shield SMSc for comparison, my RMScs are mounted.

I took measurements: Glock 43x slide is 22mm wide, the 507k is 24mm wide at base, 25.5mm if you add the battery tray cover. 1mm overhang on each side.

          Holosun on G48

I've read that the 407k was designed for the slim slides, but don't really understand the diff between 507k and 407k. Also trying to figure out where to send the slide for milling. I keep reading about Glock Store, so was thinking of there. Thoughts or advice?

A 407 will only have the 2 MOA dot reticle.

A 507 will have options....2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or dot-circle combo
