need advice on a spotting scope

looking into a decently powered spotting scope. willing to spend in the $300-400 retail price range. we shoot paper up to 200 yrds and steel out to about 600ish. Hopefully it has decent enough eye relief

Used just once, with box, tripod, and all paperwork, including warranty card, traded in toward a high end Kowa spotter. Heckuva deal. Optics are 100%

When I was in college getting a degree in wildlife management in the 1960's spotting scopes were the rage & I bought a Redfield 15x60 that I seldom used.Now it's better to use both eyes via binocs on a tripod you can see more, have less eye strain and the equipment packs a whole lot better! In July 2005 I enrolled in a class in AZ, that was never taught in college, from AZ Guide Duwane Adams "How To Glass For Trophy Animals" (www.arizonabiggamehunting.com ) .I found that my 10x40 Instant Focus Leupold Binocs weren't up to the job of spotting Coues Deer 1 1/2 miles away with my old eyes.I borrowed Duwanes' Zeiss 15x binocs & saw my first coues deer.When I returned to CA I sought out jewish owned camera & optics stores in NYC that carry quality merchandize and offer great discounts.At http:www.cameralandny.com I bought 20x60 Pentax Binocs with a tripod adaptor & free shipping included. When I moved to CA from NYS I told all of my office partners at the probation dept to check out the discount stores in NYC for optics they still buy their cameras from www.BHPHoto.com & other stores there.
