Globe front sight? I just read about these...seems cool

    Hey guys,

I was pondering how cool it would be to have a front sight that you can see through and low and behold it exists already but they seem to be mounted a little high. Is there one low enough to work with a Williams rear peep sight? I just ordered one for my lever gun but it's just a 44 mag so it's not a big deal but might be cool with the 30-30 lever.

The Lyman 17AHB isn't low enough?

Wow nice, thanks for the link. I had only read old discussions and one was .494" high but it can see it's down to .404". Someone said the Williams couldn't adjust enough. I'll measure my stock sight to see.

Ok so how do I measure my front sight? I'm thinking it's from the barrel to the top of the sight. I got .29" and sure enough online I read that should be correct so it looks like the sights for the lyman are too high unless the Willaims will adjust up .114"+. I can try to measure when I get the rear peep sight installed. For my 30-30 it should work fine.

Geofois, on a lever gun, go old school classic. Marbles tang sight, and a folding Beech front sight. Do an image search for "Beech front sight" or "Lyman #5 front sight".
