Eotech Dim startup?

i have a eotech 552.A65 Revision F made in 2005, when i power up the eotech it is very dim, i contacted eotech directly and they said it should be at level 12 brightness. does anybody else have that problem with it being dim on start up? or is level 12 brightness that dim? thanks in advance for the feedback.

My eotech has a dim start up issue, hasnt been resolved yet.

I too have 552 and also has a dim startup. I just keep my finger on the brightness button for a few seconds and it'll be fine. I wasn't aware this was a problem. I always figured it started off Dim and it could be adjusted as needed.

I am glad someone asked this question. The eotech is suppose to turn on at the last setting it was at. Whats up with it going back to a dim setting?

The Eotech should always start at setting 12, unless they've changed that in the newest models. The only one I know of that remembers the last setting is the new gen Bushnell Holosight, which has a separate power button where the Eotech NV button goes, rather than using the up/down buttons for power.

My 552.A65 from 12/04 still turned on at 12 when I used it this weekend, but it sounds like there's a problem going around with them.

i contacted eotech, as at the range in the day i can't see the red dot on a white background past 25yards on the brightest setting, and comparing my unit with my friends 512 model its night and day where i can see clearly where his red dot is at 100yards. eotech have accepted my request for a warranty claim and even though out of warranty they offered to fix it for free! +1 for eotech. i will let you guys know how it is once i get it back.

from what they said when i talked to them, it always go back to 12 and doesn't save the last setting.
