    Polarizing filter with Trijicon Reflex 1x24

    Does anyone have a Trijicon Reflex 1x24 with the polarizing filter? The people at Trijicon said they started including it with the sight to deal with the washout problelm when shooting from a dark area to a bright area.

    They said they do not yet offer the filter with the 1 x 42 sight.

    Polarizing filter

    I do, but mine did not originally come with it (I bought mine back in 1999).

    I had to buy my filter separately.

      I do,
      Does it cure the washout problem?
      Is it a pain to put on?
      Are there any ill effects when using the filter?

        Although it doesn't cure the problem 100%, it certainly alleviates it. The filter basically acts like sunglasses for the Reflex, but with adjustable tint.

        According to Trijicon, "Light transmission though the filter can be adjusted by rotating the outer ring of the filter. The range from lightest to darkest is reached every 90 degree turn."

        Brightest position:
        Transmission = 78%
        Light Lost = 22%

        Darkest position:
        Transmission = 1%
        Light Lost = 99%

        It is simple to install/remove, just screws onto the front of the Reflex.

        For $20 it's worth it, especially if you don't have the funds to upgrade your entire optic.
