Recommend me a "Test Mule" Scope

I need a test mule of a scope that will go on several rifles.
    2 AR15
    1 AR10
    1 700 SPS Tactical .223
    1 700 SPS Tactical .308
    1 .22LR

This will be taken on and off frequently and will be mainly used at 100-200 yards but I need the ability to get out to 1000 yards. This thing won't be babied too much so I want it to be rugged and repeatable. I have been looking at these 2 scopes as front runners:
Sightron SII Big Sky Side Focus 4.5-14X44 Mil Dot
Nikon Monarch Side Focus 4-16X50 Mil Dot

I am trying to stay closer to $500 for this scope because I'm saving up to get all of my rifles scoped but until then this will have to do for range visits.

Yea I've considered it but keep getting mixed reviews about the glass quality. I also need/want more than 10X and would like to get able to use the lower magnification if I decide to do any hunting.

Honestly I've heard a lot of great things about both. I have looked through the standard Sightron SII's not the Big Sky's and I was already impressed with clarity. I'm not comparing these to the high end optics, but for my needs I think the clarity is good enough for me. Now I need the reliability, the accuracy, the ruggedness, a company who will be around 5+ years from now, and lastly a company who will handle warranty issues in a timely manner ( i heard Nikon takes a long time for warranty issues).

dj, I have a Bush 4200 6-24x40 side focus. Fantastic glass. Friend has only Lupy, old to the newest. When we go shooting our .308`s he will grab my .308 with the cheepass $300 SS scope and shoot it. When I got my 4200 he told me I was a fool for not getting the Lupy, best glass on the planet he says. Right, the SS has good glass. It is "not" a $1000 scope. The glass is very clear. But I am not a glass snob. If it is clear, it is clear. Just because something costs more does not make it better, or in this case clearer, to a point. Again, it is $300 glass, and if another mfg was selling these scopes, they would sell for much more money. Good luck.

I agree that the Super Sniper Scopes are a good deal especially for what you get, but 10X for me at this point is too limiting for my uses. If Super Sniper came out with a variable I would be all over it, but I bet the price would jump up to the $500 level I am looking at.

The Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 might be worth a look. I checked one out at the last Crossroads gunshow out here. Glass was very clear from what I could tell looking around inside the limited space available. If the adjustments are as precise and repeatable as their 3200 10X mil dot scope, it should be a winner.
