    M-Lok QD mount problem.

I have a BCM M-lok QD mount and what I thought is a Magpul carbine handguard M-lok but I cannot for the life of me slide the T nut into the slots. Ether the slot is too small or the T nut is too large.. did Magpul have an older handguard that is not M-lok? Mine is well over 13 years old.. It's the one for carbine with the A2 front sight..

M-lok came out in 2014 & didn't become really popular until around 2016 or so, so if your handguard is from around 2007 then it's definitely not M-lok compatible. Heck 2007 is before even quadrails became popular.

Yes. Your Magpul handguard has the older MOE mounting system, it was Magpul's predecessor to M-Lok.

Ok, thank you for the info.. I kinda wondered looking at photos.. It did appear the current one has slightly "thicker" holes... well, I guess I need a new handguard. [emoji53]

I have converted one mount spot on my MOE handguard to Mlock, not hard with a Dremel.

Magpul also sells a conversion kit but it was easier and cheaper to mod the MOE handguard. My mod looks factory.

I considered that, however I want to mount a light useing an M-lok mount as well. Most likely just but a new handguard and keep the old one for a spare.

You can mount anything after you convert it. Anything that mounts to Mlok you can mount to the MOE. I attached a QD mount to mine. You can convert every MOE spot to Mlok if you wanted. I guess if you needed multiple mlok mount points for your flashlight you might have a problem though.

If I remember correctly, I only had to elongate the MOE ovals slightly.

If you have a dremel you have nothing to lose by trying
