    i prefer the optic a bit forward for two reasons, it makes the slide a bit easier to grasp when charging, I don't like grabbing the optic to slingshot the slide....i also seem to pick up the dot a bit quicker when it is mounted further, this was certainly the case from my experience with the old C-more type sights.
