Eotech with Aimpoint or with another Eotech?

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has any comments on the Eotech 557 with the Aimpoint 3x or Eotech 4x Magnifier? I'm wondering which one is a "better" setup if it's mostly for >100 yds shooting?

Also, can you put a 3x or 4x with the Eotech xps3? As you can see, I'm new to optics and calguns =) Iron sights just don't cut it anymore.

Having owned both, I can tell you that the EOTech 4X magnifier is the better setup. You get a little bit more magnification but the field of view is larger, due to the rectangular view through the magnifier. One thing you'll need to know is that the EOTech 4X is being discontinued as they roll out their new 3X magnifier. The 4X was too heavy and costs too much so you'll have to find a used one.

Thanks for the responses! I'm going to a show this weekend and hopefully they'll have some xps3's I can play with. They seem muuuch lighter and has longer battery life than the 557's.

Maybe xps3 with a 4x?

AFAIK, the XPS sights don't start shipping until July.

Im not normally one to tout Chinese stuff, but Ive heard a lot of people have good experiences with running the Mako 3x or 5x magnifiers behind their EOTechs and Aimpoints...I will be getting one soon enough, myself.
