    Leupold VX Scout scope

Looking at the Leupold VX Freedom Scout scope 1.5-4x28. It's for a Ruger GSR. I'm concerned the eye relief is maybe not enough (6" to 7")? I like the low weight on it. Opinions or experiences? Thanks.

For what hearsay is worth I was about to buy one and the dealer representative, who I trust, discouraged me. I'm not against Leupold because I have a number of their scopes. Scout scopes are oddball, however.

I've never used a scout scope set up either. It looks ok in the store but how I'll like it on the rifle at the range- IDK.
Care to share the reasons you were discouraged and what you did instead?

I currently have its nicer version, vxr scout on my mini 14 with a forward rail. I really like it, especially the firedot. I think the vx freedom would work. You could always try to mock up. At low zoom they do have more eye relief than at max.
