    Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T

Anyone use one of these? I'm considering it for an AR 15 as well as an ACOG.

Eh, I'd chose an ACOG over this. The CQ/T was Leupold's lame attempt at making a scope that met the requirements for the Short Dot (Leupold failed, S&B succeeded). It's not a BAD scope, it's just not that great. I spent a day with one in a carbine class a few years ago and didn't care much for it.

The Short Dot costs 2-3x what the CQ/T does, so probably not a good comparison. I would hope a $2000 scope would perform better than a $700 scope.

Good point lol, but he did suggest an ACOG over it. Based soley on what I have read about the CQ/T from arfcom I would probably agree.

a bit more than a MK4 CQ/T or a Acog, but how about an Elcan Spectre DR ?

Yeah, I don't recommend Short Dots for most folks; I was just pointing out how Leupold pulled a big fail trying to meet that requirement.

BTW, some folks like the Spectre DR, but if it means anything to you, the folks downrange being issued it as part of SOPMOD Block II are leaving it in the team box.

between those two choices, ACOG. Might also look into the Accupoint 1-4x, Nightforce 1-4x, Burris xtr, or the Meopta k-dot.

Id say a nice Tasco would do just fine
