Intro to Scopes

Hey gang. So i am building a couple of rifles and would like to put some scopes on them.

AR15 with 1-4x and a AR308 with 4-16x.

There is a lot of information that I do not know. I see things like bell, eye relief, objective diameter, parallax, focal plane, etc.

Can you guys share any links or knowledge so I can read and learn? I know there is a lot of information to learn, but I am kinda lost on where to start.

I have a leupold vx2 gold ring 4-12x40 w. AO new on gun I put couple boxes thru it. Am changing to another scope. $325 paid $425
