What is the best EOTECH for a M1A SOCOM

I recently bought a M1A SOCOM 16 and I dont know if I have to get the EOTECH 552 XR 308 or the regular 552

I had 552 on mine, couldn't complain.

Be aware that the height of the EOTech will put the sight about 2" above a normal cheek weld. You'll likely want a stock riser.

I'd suggest you consider an Aimpoint.

The XR-308 is for use in conjuction with a magnifier - the reticle looks like this:


As opposed to the standard circle-dot.

Go the Aimpoint route like Plinker pointed out - You'll be goosenecking like mad with the EOTech -
