    Best scope under $800.00?

Just purchased a Remington 700/Titanium, 30-06. Looking for the best scope for under 700.00, new or used. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Tommy

EDIT **would be used primarily as a target rifle, but plan on hunting with it as well in the future**

I have this for sale. The glass is super clear. It would be a perfect fit for your rifle. Great for Coyote and big game hunting, as well as target shooting.

What do you intend to do with your rifle? Hunting? To how far? Target shooting?

How you plan to use your rifle will determine what kind of scope you need.

I'd look for a used Leupold Vari X III probably a 4.5-14X 40mm, seen these for $500-$800, try to get 30mm

Bongos mentions the Vari-X III, and may have meant the VXIII.

The Vari-X series are older models, and haven't been made for some years now. When Leupold changed those model designations, each scope model dropped by a level - essentially, the Vari-X II became the VXI, the Vari-X III became the VXII.

It's not uncommon to see a Vari-X III go for used VXIII prices, when they should go for used VXII prices, as people get confused about the difference. They're great scopes, but be sure what you buy is priced appropriately.

Then there's the VX3, which is another model designation change, and is brand new. Many people use Vari-X III, VXIII, and VX3 interchangeably.

Just a heads-up on Leupold trivia...

Sightron SIII long range is the best, IMO. The optics are amazingly clear and bright. 120MOA on the 3.5-10 model.

              Downside, limited reticle choices.

I'd pay special attention to your needs and weight. It'd be shame to put a heavy target scope with turrets on a rifle meant for being lightweight.

30.06- that's a big game "put er' down hard" round
i'd be looking into a Leupold (lifetime warranty) 3-9x40 range.

If that's a hunting rifle I'd look at the Nikon BDC reticle scopes and the Leupold Boone+Crockett. Monarch or VX-III, VX3 Leupold in 3-9 or 2.5-10 power.

Bushnell 3200 fixed 10X. Cost less than $200.

Nice pig. Where did you get it? Did the head shot drop him right away?

Thanks bro! The first shot was a lung shot since the boar was still standing I
followed up right away with the head shot. The boar dropped right away & expired. That was at Big Horn Canyon Ranch.
