Rear Sight vs Front Sight relationship

Got a question, are the front and rear sights in a 1:1 relationship regarding POI?
Ex. If my rifles already zeroed and I make the front sight .5" taller and raise the rear sight by 0.5" will POI be the same?

For my situation I need my front sight .1135" taller to zero my rifle. But I also want to raise my rear sight by .108 to be able to clearance a larger aperture disk. So can I just add the .108 I want to raise the rear sight to the .1135 of front sight height I need and be on.
As I'm typing this I'm starting to think sight radius might come into play but not sure.


I know I could just set the rear sight where I want it and recalculate at the range but then theres no fun math.

That doesn't much help, I've already done those calculations, unless I'm just not seeing it which is possible. I've already calculated how much I need to raise my front sight in order to zero the rifle for where my rear sight is.
But after figuring it I realized I needed to raise my rear sight for clearance and wasn't sure if I could just raise the front sight by the exact same height and keep POI the same.

To break it down, rear sight is .03 above barrel. Front sight needs to change to .5735 to zero at that rear sight height. I need to now add .108 to rear sight can I just add the same .108 to the new .5735 front sight and keep POI the same

I'm just trying to order parts before I go back to the range, if I had to I could just set the rear sight where I need it and refigure the front sight height.

Theoretically your height-over-bore has changed so your POI at zero distance will change. Practically, no, you’re not going to notice any difference if you raise front and rear sights by the same amount of 0.1”

Any movement of the front, rear or both, even equally together, will always change POI.
