Anyone have experience with the Quigly Ford scopes?

I'm at Salt Lake City Hunt Expo this weekend, had a long conversation with them yesterday. I like what I see!

Thinking about pulling the trigger today for their 5 X20 FFP. They have a pretty good show special offer.

I've looked at allot of different scopes, most everything out there today are set up turrets for dialing the range, I'm old school (I'm old too), not sure I want to get into dialing a scope for different ranges.

Any input would be appreciated.

A friend bought one several years ago and likes it a lot. He thought they were on par with higher end Leupolds. Not sure if QF scopes have a lifetime warranty. Personally, I’d stick with Leupold. You know what your getting.

QF Scopes are pretty nice and you can get some nice customization to match your preferred loads. You get a lot of value and a near custom scope.

That said, with QF scopes you miss out on some of the economy of scale you get with the major manufacturers like Leupold that also do some customization like load specific turrets.

Common scope issues that I see are buying too low end and buying too high end. On the low end, the scope will likely have significant color abberation and minimal adjustability, and at the too high end the scope is just way more than needed for the shooter and gun. Over magnification is an issue too that is seen quite often.

Long used rules of thumb make good sense for buying a scope. Most shooters will do well with a scope that costs from 50% to 150% of the cost of the rifle, with 75% to 125% being a good target.

But hey, if one thinks one can make a $500 .308 rifle shoot better with a $2000 scope, by all means please help keep those scope makers in business, it certainly won't make that rifle shoot worse (assuming one did not go with excessive magnification).

I did allot of reading on FFP Saturday morning before returning to the show.

Decided that FFP is not what I am looking for. I'm a old shooter, not even into dialing a scope for the range in a hunting situation. Do it all the time a target matches, not comfortable on a hunt.
