    Sig romeo5

How is the sig romeo 5? Looking to possibly put this on an ar pistol. Should I use the taller riser as well? I will have flip up sights.

Anything better in the same price range?

It's a decent low price red dot. Put it on the Ruger PCC. The high mount I think is for lower 1/3 co witness with ar sights. I used the same height as I can use the Irons through the opening.

Romeo5 is a solid optic but i think the best bang for your buck right now is the Romeo4M

The newly released TRS-26. Bigger glass, but same Aimpoint Micro footprint. I've had both.

$160? I wonder what you get for your $110 bucks...

I just tried a Holosun 503GU for $129 from Botach. I like the only other Holsun I have with the reticle circle dot / dot option. Actually prefer this one without the solar feature. These are Aimpoint Micro mount compatible too.

I bought two of them - one older version (different controls/battery/cheaper) and the new version (came with the extra high mount). I needed a high mount dot for my RAW Tavor SAR and this was ideal for that purpose. The absolute best feature? The dot is motion activated, grab your weapon, on it goes. Put it down/away, off it goes. I figured if I ever need to use the Tavor in a defense situation, fumbling for an "on" switch (other than a safety) would be just that - fumbling...assuming I remembered to even fumble for it!

Ive got two of them on AR pistols. Low end stuff but reliable. PSA has em for $119 and they are completely worth it. Would I trust my life to it?
                  No.
I have far better optics for that, but for a plinker they have been awesome.

Got one on the fun range plinker as well. My sentiments exactly, no point in me typing the same message as above, on point.

The Romeo5 has an integrated mount that stores the power source (AAA battery) although there is a version that is very similar to the Romeo4.

The Romeo4M is the optic that the FBI went with and so it was spec'd and tested to a slightly higher standard.

The Romeo4 line overall hits a more serious user level (T level which is mil-spec testing).

The Romeo4M also comes in the graphite grey which i personally like.

Can't go wrong with either one though.
