EGW remington 700 scope mount Issue

So, I spent the last two nights bedding my EGW SA remington 700 20moa base. After the second try at bedding, I was able to successfully mount the base. I then went to mount my Vortex PMR 30-97 scope rings and the rings base will not fit into my scope base. Can someone advise the difference between the weaver and the picatinny rail? The EGW base I have measures 1/4" at the slots while the scope rings base slot width is 3/8"? Do I just have the wrong scope base? Any help is appreciated.

Picatinny is more common and 'standardized'; the space between each groove is consistently the same.

IIRC one will work on the other but not the other way around.

Looks like I might have the weaver base. Guess I got the wrong one. That being said.....

Can anyone advise of a quality 20moa base? Remington 700 SA .308. I already have Vortex matched precision rings.

I have a Nightforce 20 MOA rail on 2 of my Remington 700 SA's which happen to be in .308

Precision Reflex makes a good quality steel 20 MOA base.

After pouring over the interwebs and before all the great recommendations, I saw that the Seekins Precision was highly recommended. So this is what I went with. Thanks for you help all.
