Lowest Picatinny Rail

I'm looking at possibly installing a picatinny rail on one of my rifles, but I want it as low as possible, so what rifle it goes on doesn't matter. The length can be anything 3.5 inches or longer.

I'm not sure it doesn't matter. Don't you think telling us the rifle type would help? Otherwise it's a complete guessing game. Mosin Nagant? Marlin 336? Thompson Contender muzzle loader? Ruger M77? M1 Garand? Is your receiver drilled for such a thing? Are you planning to have it brazed or welled on?

FWIW, Weaver makes little Weaver rails for various kinds of rifles. Some of them mount very low profile on the receiver or barrel (if you are looking for a Scout setup).

I think the picatinny/weaver rail have specification on the thickness. But the Red Dot/Scopes mounts can be low/medium/high on the height of the mounts. OP may confuse between the rail and the mount.

More or less. I was looking for the lowest rail section. However, it turns out that the eye relief of the scope was different than the specs. Before I found that out, I was going to get the tufok rail section with the height of 0.27. With the different eye relief, the rail section is not needed, but the tufok is the lowest.
