    Leupold VX5 HD

I'm looking at putting a new scope on my Weatherby Vanguard 2 30-06 this year and I'm leaning towards a Leupold VX5 HD 3-15x44. Does anyone have any experience with that scope or just general thoughts. Based on what I've heard locally and on the YouTube it seems to be a pretty good option for the price range. I'm also considering a Vortex Viper Gen2.

For the money, you can't beat them. Not much different than VX 6 in quality and half the price.

I bought that exact Leupold this summer, mounted it, and haven’t shot anything but indoor pistol since -__-
Checking it out in the backyard, looking up at the San Gabriels it’s clearly better than the 20yr old Nikon 3-9x40 it’ll replace. Also gives more detail than my cheepo spotting scope.

Yep, I have this scope and a VX-6HD. Good scope, nice n light, fairly repeatable tracking. Depending on what reticle you get, you can either hold over or dial. It's been a good little scope.

I put a vx-5hd on my Christensen Ridgeline, very happy with it. I do have to hold for windage though.

              beat me to it.
The inconvenience of poor quality lingers long after the thrill of a good bargain.
