I have the rimfire model on a 10/22 and have been very happy with it much to my surprise

The quality is better than I expected for the price

    VX-Freedom 3-9x40

Hadn't seen these yet. It looks like they have one that is 1.25-4x20 with a cleaner version of the Pig Plex reticle!

Opticsplanet, on your website it shows this scope, but with the old Pig Plex reticle in it. SKU 174177

But the Leupold website shows it with the newer cleaner reticle. SKU 174177
Simplified version of the original Pig-Plex® reticle Specifically designed for hog hunting Uses a 200 or 300 yard zero with holdover points out to 600 yards A centralized circle provides quick target acquisition on fast moving targets Rear (second) focal plane

Are there two versions with the same SKU, or is the image on your website incorrect?

With further looking, I think it is a mistake and the photo on optics planet is wrong. That pig plex script in the reticle is the only reason I haven't bought more of them, I'll have to try this one out!

I've no experience with the Freedom line, but for just a little more you can step up to the Mark AR line.

I have 3 Mark AR scopes. A 1.5-4x with illuminated dot on a lightweight carbine. Great scope for the money. A 3-9x on my CZ 527 carbine (5.56), it has mil-dot reticle, and one on my CZ 455 (.17 hmr) with a fine duplex. The exposed ballistic turrets are awesome. I even ordered custom caps for the .17.

I can't help you with Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40, but I do have three Leupold VX-Freedom1.5-4x20 with Pig Plex reticle scopes. One on Rugger PCC and two on my .41 Magnum lever actions. Also, one VX-Freedom Rimfire 2-7x33 on my CZ 455.
I am very happy with them. I got them off eBay for very good prices.

I have a VX-Freedom pig plex showing up at my doorstep on Friday as well. Not sure what I'll put it on yet, but there's a real good chance I'll order a second, if the reticle is what the photo on Leupold's website shows, and not the older pig plex that I have with "Pig Plex" engraved in the reticle.

I was thinking my 1894CSBL needed it, but the little red dot I put on it today and shot a few hundred rounds with works great, so it'll probably live there.

Picked it up from the post office today. I'll be buying another next time I see a good sale!

I believe the reticle image on our site is the outdated version like you suggested.

There are only 3 versions that I am aware of

VX-Freedom 1.5-4x20 with either duplex or pig plex reticle (capped turrets)

VX-Freedom AR 1.5-4x20 with AR Ballistic Reticle

There is also a VX-Freedom Scout 1.5-4x28 with duplex reticle only
