    Midrange low power optic

I'm thinking about taking off the burris fullfield 3-9x40 and putting something like a 1-6 on. I've looked at Vortex Rt-6 and Leupold Vx-r. I really like the Rt-6, but am not too much of a fan of the reticle. Any suggestions of other optics.
I'm looking for a low magnification scope. 1x is not a necessity.
I plan to shoot out to 300 yards and it will be a sort of a general purpose rifle.
    Budget is around $700.

What about the RT-6 reticle do you not like?

You want the max magnification to be 6x? or just less than 9x?

    Some things to consider

    Sightron S-TAC 1-7x

    Leupold VX-5HD 1-5x

You can save some money by going under budget with a Leupold VX-R 1-4 Patrol. Any 1-4 is plenty for 300 yards really. Or you could go a little over budget with a Trijicon Accupoint 1-6. Those are exceptional scopes. Vortex is good too but heavy.

Right now I all my scopes have either duplex or mildot, so I find it too busy.
I'm not fixed on a certain magnification, but something between 1-2 x on the lower end and 6 + on the high end, but maybe 4x would work fine too.

I recommend the Trijicon Accupower 1-4.

Yep. Even the Accupoint 1-4 is pretty affordable now. That's what I run on my DD M4V7.

If you like the Burris RT-6, try the Nikon M Tactical 1-4... these are lower cost options and really good ones. A Vortex option you could look at is the VIPER PSTII 1-6.

There was a guy on youtube that did a lot of optic reviews, supersetca. Look him up.

The CMR4 is truly the next generation of tactical scope technology - loaded with advanced design features that truly put it in a class all of its own.

Hi-Lux doesn’t believe a true military grade tactical scope should be prohibitively expensive. So using the real world experience of Special Operations combat

What’s “affordable” look like? I like the Accupoint a lot, just couldn’t commit to the price.

                    Sweet shooter, BTW.

Edit: Looks like the Accupoints are starting around $600... good price.

I've been thinking of trading my 3-15x for a 1-6x and I keep looking at vortex strike eagle but the eye box is pretty small, and they're just as heavy as a 3-15 or 4-16 scope.

There are a couple 2-10x options out there and it sounds like that would be you're perfect set up.

If you really want the best get a Vcog, but you're well over $1k on that set up.

What 2-10 scopes would you recommend?

Check out the offerings by Athlon and Atibal. They get high praise for the quality of the optics being offered at reasonable prices.
