    Scope for Cz 455

    I have a Cz 455 with 16 1/2 inch barrel
Looking for a scope to shoot 25 to 75 yards, off bench shooting at paper,

Any ideas on what I should invest in??

Trying to stay from 2 to 3 hundred,

Light, compact, and a 50 yard parallax.

It's a shame the gloss black finish isn't available anymore as it would look great with a CZ 455 finish.

I bought the leupold 2-7 rimfire for my CZ455. Totally satisfied.

The two mentioned above are very good for the CZ. Maybe a Leupold Freedom 1.5-4x20mm. Theses are light and very good glass also. Duplex recticle.

I missed the boat on the old tiny 2-7 they used to make.

I've settled for the Mark AR 3-9x with mine in .17hmr.

the 2-7 they make now is still a 28" objective, way smaller than your 3x9.

how tiny was the one they used to make? 28mm is a handsome size scope for a rimfire. 40" must look gigantic

The old one was the 28mm, the newer one is 33. The fixed 4x is still 28mm though. I also wanted the shortness of the old one, it would have allowed me to keep the iron sights (military trainer model) on.

Ohh well, not a huge loss, if the scope goes down I'd just call it a day.

Even 9x seems to be pushing it for ground squirrels at 200+ yards so maybe 7x wouldn't have been enough anyway. 40mm seems a little big, but not as bad as you would think.

I use a Vortex Crossfire 2 6-18x44 w/ adjustable parallax. I liked it because it will focus down to 10 yards! Got the 1 piece rail from CZ. Biggest problem for me was finding a scope that bolt wouldn’t be in the way. Had a Vortex HST on it before- just too much for this little rifle. I’m old & blind as a bat so I need magnification.

I'm most likely putting a 30mm SWFA 10x42 on a 455 on a 20 MOA base. The only other option I can think of that I have already is a take-off Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40, but leaning toward the fixed 30mm 10x... probably using an EGW base and some SWFA rings I had already. EGW is on sale at Midway and there's a free ship code.

not sure if 455 takes different scope rings than my 527. but here are some tikka rings holding vx1 2-7
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Why a 20 MOA base? .22 LR doesn't shoot very far.

That's what I thought. BUT It DROPS really fast, so it is needed even more than other calibers if you stretch the distance. The rails I was looking at come in 20 or 25 MOA slant. EGW is 20 and DIP is 25 IIRC.

Makes sense though. I remember way back in the day when one guy at the range was shooting out 200 yards or so with a 22LR and had to custom slant/shim up the ring on his bolt .22 to get out there sighted in.

Check it out either google it or youtube... it is a thing at least on these CZ's.

I have that 527 in jail too... it has a 16mm dovetail. The 455 has 11mm. I got a DIP 16mm to picatiny for my 527 (7.62x39 version). It'll probably get a Diamondback scope after I shoot it with the irons for a while... unless I decide to just upgrade the rear sight. Hopefully I have 1" rings already.
