Glock 30SF sights

I currently have these

and am now feeling a front "orange" sight would work better for me. Like this one

or the thinner front sight for further targets (but its a pistol so likely the one above this)

I could just buy the front sight only but it measures .200 high and my existing one measures .156 so it would not be compatible with my current rears

Thoughts and alternatives appreciated

I run the second option you listed on my Glock 29 Gen4. They're great, and I had wanted those sights for years after seeing so many cadets run them in the academy but my work wouldn't let me change them out. I am switching agencies (todays my last day!) and the new shop requires you provide your own weapon, so I'm in and happy with the purchase.

They work great in daylight and the NS glow is strong but the dots are very small at night.

having a front sight that gives better aim acquisition is what I have seen on other guns using this type. The front sight within the silhouette of the rear "U" should be good...although both front & rear do have illuminated "green" dots

The ones I have now are "OK" but I have found the front "white" circle of front sight not as easily picked up as this orange glow circle one gives in daylight. In night it should be even better.

My current sights are only 2 years old so I will likely sell them

I shoot USPSA and really like the plain black rear and the FO front setup. for work, it's not a great option as I worry a fiber would break or I may need some illumination at night. These sights mimic that sight picture while still being good for low light or night use.

trying to decide if I should go with the thinner front sight one.

...although the thicker one would be a slightly larger orange dot which may be easier to acquire.

On the Trijicon site it only lists the thinner front sight for the model G30. the wider one is listed for the G19...

That is likely due to the sight radius of each model. With the shorter radius of the G30sf the wider front sight may not give you enough light around the sides when looking at it through the rear sight notch. On the G19, with its longer sight radius, the wide front sight will appear smaller due to distance allowing enough light for proper sight picture.

In post #2 that person states he uses the wider front one in his G29 (GL104O). That has the same barrel length as the G30.....the G19 however is longer. I would think, using the quoted response above, that the longer distance for the front sight from rear on the 19 the wider front sight would be the way to go. But if I understand post #2 right he used the wider front sight one on his G29 which has the same barrel length as my G30

the barrel length of the G29 & 30 are the same at 3.78" and the G19 is 4.02"

I am sure personal preference comes into play here. Certainly "Amazon" listings on what item goes with what gun may not be reliable. No specific part # for either Trijicon sight is noted. There is a minimal $ difference between the two

The part # for sights from Trijon that fits the G30 are different from the G19....but the same for the G29...both has the .122 wide (thinner) front sight

"both" are for the G30....

so there are 2 choices....which is what I am trying to decide
