50 MOA mount and base elevation

At least in the interim I'm marrying a Vortex Crossfire II 4-12 x 44 with a Ruger precision rimfire, which is a 22LR. That seems OK for now, but here's my concern. The scope base has a 20 MOA elevation and the scope mount has a 30 MOA elevation ... so 50 MOA. That seems huge to me, but then again it is a 22LR. You guys are the experts though. Is 50 MOA to much? Even if on the high side it makes my life easier because I'm set to go and I don't have to come up with a different setup. Your opinions please.

Seems like it may be difficult to zero your scope since the total elevation adjustment range of the scope is listed at 50 MOA.

I have a crossfire II 6-18x ao scope on my cz 455. I have 0 moa and the scope is mounted very low almost touching the barrel. I can zero at 50 yards and I have enough adjustment to shoot 200 yards.

With your setup you will be able to shoot as far as you want, but you probably wont have enough adjustment to zero down to 50 yards.

Thanks all! I found that I had an extra mount that was O MOA. So given the 20 MOA angle of the Ruger's factory installed base I should be fine. With this rifle I am trying for maximum "reasonable" distance (though the idea of going for the max sometime is of interest), but I also want to shoot a distance of say 50 yards. I agree with what everyone has noted that shooting down to 50 yards with a 50 MOA angle would be a challenge to say the least. Nikon's scope is OK, but the mount (which I was attempting to use with the Vortex) presents some challenges. The 30 MOA angle seems somewhat high for an "out of the box" mount and finding the torque settings is a challenge. There's a youtube video where the fellow ends up calling Nikon and they tell him that they don't have a clue.
