    alternative sights for CZ75B

I am looking for alternative sights for CZ75B to overcome nearsight vision challenges. Mine used to be 100% vision is not 100% anymore.
Looking into Fiber-optics and tritium sights. So far found the following options from links on the cz usa website looking suitable
-TrueGlo TFX CZ 75 Set Pro ORN
    -Metrolight CZ True-Dot Night Sight
-Dawson precision CZ75 P-01 - not sure if it works for 75B. For some reason they do not list specifically 75B model
    -any other solution

From what I've seen and heard a problem with handguns due to declined vision after 40 is quite common. I am asking for some input on pros and cons of fiber optics vs tritium and recommended models for 75B from personal experience.

I feel yah, I'm in my early 40's and now have astigmatism after a lifetime of being eagle-eyed 20/20.

The sight's on my CZ-75 and Kadet Conversion are both still stock. I never changed mine because most new aftermarket front sights for the CZ-75 need to be drilled for that damn roll pin.

The light charged luminescent pigment CZ uses just make the dots harder to acquire quickly. Under a shade or indoors, once the charge wears off, they just read as dull greyish-green.

Before you purchase aftermarket sights, you might consider removing the old terrible paint and repainting the dots with several coats of white Testors model paint. Back in the day, that was something commonly suggested on the CZforum. Most folks just used a toothpick or bamboo skewer stick to carefully apply the paint.

I have TrueGlo TFOs (tritium fiber optic) on my Glock 17, they're great when shooting outdoor as the fiber optics really light up.

Tritium's great in the dark, but make no difference when shooting under lit conditions, a white dot will actually be superior for target shooting.

Incidentally, the tritium in the front sight quickly dimmed, TrueGlo never returned my emails when I tried to contact them, however this was around 2007, and the company and quality of the sights may have gotten better since then.

Without going custom and having to have the slide milled, this is my preferred sight on my 75. I'm older and nearsighted. I do not like dots on the rear blade. CZ Custom short tactical rear sight and Cajun Gun Works fiber optic front sight. The Cajun Gun Works sight is predrilled.

My preference is a gold bead front sight, but I didn't feel like paying to have one fabricated.

        1. The stock sights on CZ ain't the best things to ever come down the pipe so don't feel bad about being +40.

        2. Sights for the P-01 fit 75B series

You didn't state the purpose. If this is a range / target shooting only pistol go for fiber. It will a bit cheaper. I've got Hi-Viz (Not the current models) on my 75B and 75-SA. They are huge improvements over stock. The fibers on these are not as protected as the current models and will probably collect more light than the protected tubes.

If you are going to have this as a self defense gun, go tritium/fiber. I have TFX Pro on my P-01. They are not as bright as the Hi-Viz fiber only but the tubes are much better shrouded for protection, which you want on a self defense gun but it does reduce the physical aperture the light can come in to make them glow in the daylight. No free lunch.

Remember that you will be driving out a pin on the front sight to do the install. And remember to put the pin back in on the new sight!

Thanks guys. I am looking for an option to improve range/target shooting. Indoor shooting with electric light is the most challenging for my eyes. At close distance my eyes are still fine. I think I will start with repainting dots on my CZ as loosewreck suggested since it is low cost and does not require any modification. If it does not solve my problem with lining up rear, front sights and a target at distances from 15 to 25 yards I will try fiber as more suitable for day light conditions. Speaking of colors white seems optimum for painted dots. As for fiber optics most of sources I've found mention light green, yellow/gold, orange, red and blue colors.
Thanks for the input and sharing your experience.

I have red Dawson fiber optics on most of my handguns. Seems to work well.

You might check out Springer Precision. They make an optics mounting base that uses the CZ rear sight dovetail. No mods to the gun. I put a Vortex Venom on one of my 75s and love shooting it.

I'm in the same situation as the OP. I've been running Dawson/CZC FO fronts on my guns, with a plain black rear sight.

On my CZ's i used to use the competition rears and FO fronts. I've found that the Competition rears eat up my side when i changed to a different holster since it sits closer to my body. With the Bladetech DOH it does not happen.

I like the CZ short tactical rears, or have them mill the rear for your preferred novak lo mount cut sight.

On my HD guns i tend to run both a FO front and trit front. On my glocks i have FO since i have a light mounted. On my 1911's i have a trit front with black rears if going handheld light.

On a side note i have a cz compact i haven't decided if i'm going to go trit front or FO front. The FO's just jump right out at you.

              Hope that provides some insight.
