what do you guys recommend for an optic for an AR-15 9mm with a 16" barrel? I just mess around in the desert with it, nothing serious. Thanks.

For a 9mm...nothing more than irons or a red dot. Have fun at 50-100 yards with it.

Pretty much inside 100 yds hitting gongs n whatever else is in the desert is what i do with it. The holosuns and PA red dots are appealing to me costwise but ill spend up to $300. Any particular red dot?

The Romeo 4M is a solid choice and great price with tons of compatible aftermarket mounts

The Holosun 510C is another red dot I have run on my 9mm and 5.56 ARs with no issues

I just spent some time on the range with the Primary Arms 1x Cyclops and it would definitely be a great option if you have any eye issues that complicate a typical red dot

+1 for the 510C... I have three, one on a 12G, and two on AR pistols 5.56 and 300Blk. The 300Blk AR Pistol is a 50-150yd gun, not to awfully different than a Pistol Caliber Carbine.

I'm liking that holosun 510C. I was actually already looking at that one. I like the green. as for an MRO or H1/T1, I just am not going to do anything very serious with this carbine to justify the cost. I like the circle dot of the 510C. that type helps me acquire a target much faster than a simple dot. I need a red dot for my KSG too. HMMMMM.... maybe I should get 2 of these??
