Nikon 4.8x18x40. With bdc

Anyone have any opinions on this scope??

I want to put it on a Cz 455, cal 17hmr.

WAAAAAY more scope than you need for shooting out to 100yrds.

You would be fine with a 5, 7 or 9x at 100 yrds. 18x is way more magnification than you would need.

I have the prostaff 4 on my 300 mag i usually shoot out to 350 yards and its been great gonna work on further distances.
Mines a 4-12 power.

It is a perfectly decent scope for the money. The BDC reticle does not do anything for you if all you need is 100 yards. Aside from that, it will work fine. I am not sure it is the best option out there, but not the worst either.

It’s more than you need but like J-cat said, it’s nice to have more.

But you have a choice to make. You can either go with a way nicer lower power scope or buy a cheaper higher powered scope.

And with glass, you get what you pay for. I generally spend as much for the glass as I do the rifle it’s going on...if not more.
