Going to give reflex a try

The firearm:
An AR-shaped .22lr. 80% polymer receiver. Just a pinker that everyone loves to shoot. Fantastic for introducing new shooters to fundamentals.
It currently has a red dot from a crossbow on it, lower 1/3rd cowitnessed.
I'd like to put a reflex sight on it, just because I don't have anything with a reflex sight.
Wont be hunting or doing tactical backflips, so a hard cap of $150.
So what do those that are reflexively experienced recommend?

Truthfully? To spend a little more money or get a tube style sight. $150 really puts you in the danger zone of cheap Chinese optics ESPECIALLY when they are the reflex design.

I think your best bet in budget would probably be the Sightmark eotech rip offs which there are a variety of which to choose.

A little bit more money would get you into a Vortex Viper mini reflex but it is designed as a back up sight and would need some kind of a riser/mount for an AR15. 6 MOA is a little on the fat side too.

A little more and you could get an Ultradot which is a Japanese made red dot maker who are popular among .22lr competitors. I have a different model from them which I hunt with on my .22 WMR. Surface scratches easily but I am otherwise impressed for the money.

Otherwise, going back to a tube design, something like the Primary Arms or Vortex clones of the Aimpoint Micro would get you further, be more durable, and last longer.

Burris and vortex are close to your price points.

Dvor has burris reflex in your price range at the moment.

If this was for one of my 5.56/.223 AR's I would (did) spend more for an optic.
But this is a dedicated .22lr rimfire carbine.

Good to know. I have never owned one (nor will I lol). It seemed like they had upped their game in the last couple years with the Wolverine line being passable. Maybe that was just good marketing?

The centerfires are 7075 aluminum.
