high, high and high.... always.... since that's the height you need to achieve the proper cheekweld... it is dominated by the cheekweld, not by the objective lens size anymore, like many other gun... due to the fact that your cheekweld is on the buffer tube...

eg. ARMS #22H, center of scope to flat-top is 1.45"

The height you need is 1.375" to 1.5". ARMS 22H, LaRue, AD Mount, GG&G, Nightforce, and Leupold make some good mounts.

You can also check with Badger. They have an ultra high set of 30mm rings that are made specifically for the AR.

Like Mike says, you need a specific height for ARs. They're not like regular rifles where you want to keep the scope as close to the bore as possible while still clearing the bell.

Most rings suitable for AR use are labeled extra high or ultra high, but there aren't any standards for these labels. What you want is a centerline somewhere around 1.4" above the rail, which is the height of the iron sights.

For many people, rings won't put the scope far enough forward, especially if you shoot nose to charging handle (NTCH). It depends on your stock length, the scope's eyepiece length and eye relief, and how you mount the rifle to your shoulder.

Here's the Big List of AR15 one-piece mounts, including sections on rings and extended rails:
