Fake Leupold Here?

Looks like a fake but could be real if its the lower tier models.
I'd check for the box and any marking on the scope.

According to the listing, it's a 3-9x40, I think you nailed it. Your Google-Fu is stronger than mine . The seller isn't very responsive though, one of those that wait hours between emails.

I bought one a couple years ago second hand and was worried about fakes.
Leupold's info below. I also remember to look for 'Leupold' engraved into the lensholder ring. Back then, supposedly the counterfitters would paint the name but not engrave.

I wouldn't know a real from the fake here, but kind of scratching my head why counterfeit a lower-end scope like the VX2? Now the Mk4's, there's a lot of fakes out there.

Ask the seller for the serial number and then check with Leupold, 1-800-LEUPOLD and that should resolve the issue. Very possible the seller does not know if the scope is fake or real. Of course, if the seller cannot or will not provide the number, question answered.

Can't say without actually looking closely in person, but I don't see any indications that it's a fake.
