    Leupold Freedom scope

Was just in Sportsmans Warehouse today and saw Leupold's new line of rifle scope. Anyone have any on-hands experience with them? Looking for a new scope for a new rifle. Love the VX-1 / VX-2's for their clarity and price point, along with the no questions asked warranty.

Good timing, I had one land on my desk late last week.

Haven't mounted it up or done much more than take a quick glance at it.

Any specific questions I can answer?

VX-Freedom 3-9x40 w/ Rimfire MOA reticle is the model i have on hand

Just curious if theyre the replacements for vx-1 vx-1, or something entirely new?

It is my understanding that the VX-Freedom will replace the Vx-1 and VX-2 lines

I wonder if the quality is the same or better?

I am sure they will be good but I will take the opportunity to upgrade with a 3.5X10X40 on my rifles for big game hunting. I do like them a lot. I have several Varri-X II that I may sell that are extra. Then buy VX3i scopes as I need them.

My contact at Leupold says the Freedom line has VX-2 glass.

Turners didn't have one in stock, they're still waiting. I did check the Rifleman. The glass is superior to the Nikon no-name (prostaff?) that came with my Savage 10.
