    Scope Ring Height for 10/22

I have a 10/22 with a Tactical Solutions 15 MOA picatinny mount. Using a Magpul Hunter X22 stock. Scope is a Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40mm (1" tube.)

What height should I get scope ring mounts?

I have a 10/22 with an after market pic rail, and I have a 3-9x40mm scope with a 1" tube also. I mount mine with low rings because I like having the scope as low down as I can get it.

What height should I get scope ring mounts?
What ever you want. Your set up should fit with 1" rings of any height.

Does having a bull barrel and Magpul Hunter X22 stock change anything?

Scope height is relative to what you want to accomplish with the rifle.
For an extreme example of scope height, look at this photo of my pre-warning 10/22. It's set up for varmit shooting out to 75+ yards but if I need it for close range, the Weaver rings are see through for the iron sights. Center of the 1" scope tube to the top of the receiver is 1-1/2". I could have easily dropped the scope another 3/4" but I would lose the see through factor.
I don't think cheek weld is that important on a light recoil .22 non competition rifle, in my setup it's more of a "jaw weld" and it's been that way for the past fifteen years with no regrets or accuracy issues.
Since you already have the scope, try this: Stabilize the rifle on a level bench with the barrel also level using blocks or bags, position the rifle to your shoulder and cheek weld, have a buddy hold the scope over the rail shifting it up or down, fore or aft until you find your optical sweet spot then have your buddy take a tape measurement from the top of the rail to the center of the scope-this will give you a fairly accurate starting point for your ring selection. You might have to also add in the depth of the rail cut depending which ring manufacturer you choose.

            Low rings
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

No. I have a 0.92" bull barrel with my low rings. While I don't have the same stock, the X22 doesn't go over the top of the receiver or barrel, so it will have the same clearance for scopes.

Whichever rings give you the best cheek weld. For most people that would be lows, if they will work.
